About The Position

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is hiring a creative and supportive Teacher’s Aide/Assistant for Wayside Academy in Framingham. The role provides behavioral and academic support to students and teachers in the classroom and supports delivery of the curriculum alongside the Special Education Teacher/Instructor. The Teacher’s Aide may act as a substitute teacher when necessary and is expected to act professionally in a manner consistent with Wayside’s core service values of resiliency, excellence, and diversity.

The role includes providing one-to-one student support to help students remain in the classroom, as well as behavioral interventions when a student is unable to remain there. The aide must manage competing priorities while supporting program structure, behavioral standards, and a positive role-modeling environment for youth. Requirements

• High-quality customer service, including the ability to connect with others, be approachable and respectful, and communicate with people at all levels.
• Ability to assess and manage risk.
• Ability to set limits and support the school culture.
• Flexibility and creative thinking, including the ability to adapt to changing work situations, processes, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Six or more months of experience in educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral and academic support to students and teachers in the classroom.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus, with half paid after six months of employment and half paid after one year of employment; pro-rated for part-time.
