Under the direction of the school principal, the Teacher-Minister of Religion is responsible for supporting the Diocese of St. Augustine in its mission to educate, evangelize, and catechize youth in a Catholic school environment. This role requires the individual to recognize and support the unique Catholic mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The teacher must not espouse any doctrine inconsistent with these teachings. The position involves working collaboratively with the principal to build the faith community, demonstrating lived Gospel values through personal example and active participation in a faith community. Maintaining physical and informational security, respecting confidentiality and privacy, and adhering to all diocesan and school policies and regulations are also key aspects of the role. The teacher will integrate Catholic religious curriculum, participate in planning school religious and service-related activities, and demonstrate effective classroom management.
