About The Position

Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning in a particular time period in health and physical education. This is a full-time, 10-month position at New London High School Multi Magnet Campus.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in Physical Education (044) or Dual certification in both Health (043) and Physical Education (044).
Must fully comply with the disclosure and employment verification requirements mandated under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 10-222c.
Successful completion of a comprehensive background screening and sexual misconduct background check.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
Dual certification in both Health (043) and Physical Education (044) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, standards-based health and physical education instruction that promotes lifelong wellness, physical fitness, healthy decision-making, and social-emotional well-being.
Create a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment where students develop motor skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and healthy habits.
Assess student progress, use data to differentiate instruction, and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student growth.
Collaborate with school staff to foster a positive school culture, implement district initiatives, and support the overall academic, physical, and social development of all students.
