About The Position

St. Mary’s Elementary School in Annapolis is seeking a qualified, full-time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves providing elementary students with a comprehensive academic and physical experience aligned with the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. The teacher will create a learning environment that promotes an understanding of the relationship between healthy body function, exercise, and athletics. This is a 10-month teaching position with benefits. Standard work hours are 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
Proficient in using a variety of technology.

Nice To Haves

Classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
