About The Position

Brillante Academy Public Charter School, opening in August 2023, currently serves over 420 students in the Mission area and surrounding communities. By the 2026-2027 school year, Brillante will offer PreK3 through 4th grade and will continue to expand annually up to 8th grade. The school plans to grow its network across Texas to serve over 7,000 students within the next decade. Brillante Academy operates under the management of Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also oversees the Seton Teaching Fellows and El Camino programs. Seton Education Partners also manages the Brilla Schools Network in Bronx, NY. Brillante Academy is a two-way, dual language school focused on empowering scholars and the community through a blend of personalized blended learning, co-teaching, and a classical educational approach. The school emphasizes educating the whole child, fostering character development through core values (courage, justice, wisdom, and self-control), and maintaining high academic standards with a content-rich curriculum. The goal is to prepare scholars for excellence in high school, college, and beyond, equipping them with English and Spanish proficiency to become bilingual and biliterate citizens who positively impact their community. Brillante is dedicated to the holistic development of its scholars and to creating a joyful environment for families and staff. Team members are expected to play a key leadership role in realizing the school's vision and contributing to its growth from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model and values.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Texas certification in Physical Education preferred.
  • Experience with early childhood or elementary students preferred.
  • Experience organizing school-wide events and extracurricular activities.
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education lessons for students in grades K–4.
  • Develop students' physical fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families.
  • Lead and coordinate school-wide wellness events, including but not limited to: Turkey Trot, Field Day, Fitness Challenges, etc.
  • Assist with assemblies, student celebrations, and community events as needed.
  • Participate in professional development, coaching, and collaborative planning.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and school leaders to support student success.
  • Partner with School Nurse on wellness initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment, inventory, and organization of PE and athletic spaces.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and school policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
