About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher for one year olds who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. This role is on-site and full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities. This is a meaningful role where your work truly impacts children and families every day.

Requirements

CDA (Child Development Associate) or formal early childhood education.
45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children.
Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting.
Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision).
Level II Background Check required.

Responsibilities

Nurturing each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies.
Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold.
Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences.
Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning.
Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team.
Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements.
