About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026–2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. We are a women- and therapist-founded company committed to creating a supportive employment experience for school-based professionals. Requirements

• Valid state teaching credential with an endorsement in visual impairments
• Bachelor's or master's degree in special education, visual impairments, or a related field
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with school-aged students preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired
• Assess students’ functional vision and learning-media needs
• Support instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs
• Adapt instructional materials and recommend appropriate assistive technology
• Collaborate with teachers, families, related service providers, and school teams
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Travel between assigned school sites as needed
