Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
About The Position
Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time, in-person TVI for the 2026–2027 school year to support students in Milliken, CO. This position also requires Orientation and Mobility (O&M) certification to support students with safe navigation, mobility skills, and access within their educational environment. In this role, you will provide direct services, consultation, and collaboration to help students with visual impairments access their curriculum and school environment successfully. Requirements
- Active Colorado CDE certification with Teacher of the Visually Impaired endorsement required
- Orientation and Mobility (O&M) certification required
- Experience working with K-12 students preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Passion for supporting students with visual impairments in school-based settings
Responsibilities
- Provide direct TVI and Orientation & Mobility services to students
- Collaborate with IEP teams, teachers, related service providers, and families
- Support accommodations and accessible educational materials
- Assist with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and visual access strategies as needed
- Support student mobility, navigation, and orientation skills across educational environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Maintain timely documentation and compliance records
