About The Position

Help create meaningful access to learning and support students as they reach their full potential this school year in Palatine, Illinois. Cross Country Education is seeking an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to help students access instruction, achieve their academic goals, and thrive throughout their high school experience. Provide specialized instruction and educational support to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school campuses. Serve as an itinerant teacher, adapting instruction and accommodations to meet individual students’ communication, academic, and accessibility needs. Collaborate with general and special education teachers, families, interpreters, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and implementation of IEP goals. Monitor student performance and provide consultation, resources, and recommendations related to hearing-related accommodations and educational access.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) endorsement
Experience providing specialized instruction or support to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
