About The Position
The Children's Center for Communication is hiring a Teacher for Students with Severe Disabilities to join their expanding program for students with intensive developmental and communication needs. This role involves working in a small classroom of 3-5 students with a high faculty ratio, utilizing a communication-based model of instruction. The teacher will deliver an adapted curriculum, provide classroom instruction, offer therapeutic support, and use instructional and communication technology, including Assistive Technology and AAC. The position is for a 206-day program, following a typical school year calendar with an additional 23-day summer schedule. The role is part of a highly collaborative team of specialists, including SLPs, OTs, PTs, BCBAs, Assistive Technology support, Adaptive Physical Education, and Curriculum Specialists, within a private, specialized campus setting in Beverly.
Requirements
- Experience leading a classroom in a setting
- Familiarity with various instructional methodologies
- Experience with children presenting with a range of disabilities and challenges
- Knowledge of and experience using voice output systems
- Eligible for state licensure
