The General Music Teacher is responsible for preparing scholars in general music in multiple buildings. This role involves developing a high-quality general music program using research-based instructional strategies, providing sound music instruction in singing techniques, music reading/literacy, and application of theoretical knowledge through movement, instruments, and musical games. The teacher will also provide rhythmic instruction, develop lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and academic plan, implement plans addressing all learning styles through differentiated instruction, and plan and execute at least two performances per building annually. Additionally, the role requires communication with feeder schools for program articulation, evaluation of scholar progress, grading, attending professional development, maintaining a safe and effective classroom environment, and establishing positive communication with scholars, parents, and staff.
