About The Position

This position is responsible for organizing, facilitating, and providing professional development to new teachers and administrators. It involves managing the district-wide Induction and Mentoring Program, consulting with teachers to help them attain Highly Qualified (HQ) status, and maintaining records for budgetary and professional development files. The role supports the district's goal of having 100% HQ teachers.

Requirements

  • Experience facilitating and providing Induction/Mentoring programs and job-embedded professional development aligned to Title IIA Regulations.
  • Experience as a public school Administrator.
  • Certified administrator preferred.
  • Successful completion of NCBC (fingerprinting) and CORI prior to start of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, facilitate and provide professional development to new (1st, 2nd, or 3rd year) teachers, and administrators, including meetings, protocol training, topic-focused workshops, seminars, job-embedded coaching, mentoring support, portfolio development, and other activities as determined by the DESE TEQIP, and Title IIA grant.
  • Facilitate all aspects of the district-wide Induction and Mentoring Program aligned with the Mass Standards for Induction and Mentoring.
  • Consult, mentor and develop action plans with non-highly qualified teachers for them to attain HQ status a.s.a.p./prior to May 1st
  • Maintain all records for budgetary and professional development files associated with HQ, Induction/ Mentoring and Title IIA projects.
  • Other duties as required in order to support the District in attaining and maintaining 100% HQ teachers.
