The primary function of a teacher is to deliver the district curriculum in multiple ways that increase student learning and achievement. This role involves teaching middle and high school students academic, social, and life skills, preparing and administering assessments, and utilizing assessment data to inform lesson development. The teacher will instruct students on rules of conduct and expected behaviors, manage the classroom, and identify students with academic issues for referral to appropriate service providers. Regular communication with parents or guardians regarding student performance and behavior is essential. The role also includes maintaining records, assigning lessons, and providing timely feedback. Teachers are expected to use various teaching methods, plan and deliver differentiated instruction, and maintain school and classroom discipline. They will also participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and potentially sponsor student activities or organizations. Other duties may be assigned by school administration.
