About The Position

Franklin, a visionary grade 9-12 co-educational school located in Jersey City, is currently offering in-person academic programming for the 2026-27 school year. We are seeking a self-directed, experienced, and energetic High School Math Teacher to begin in the Fall of 2026.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math or a related field required
  • At least two (2) years of relevant, full-time high school Math teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Past success teaching students with varying skill levels and learning styles
  • Experience with thoughtful integration of technology into Math curricula

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Math or a related field preferred
  • Experience teaching AP Math is favorable

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a rigorous mathematics curriculum, assessments, and lessons that align with year-long learning objectives.
  • Foster students' analytical and critical thinking skills while integrating opportunities to develop their mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills in reading, writing, and verbal expression.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback, providing specifics for growth.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered Math classroom.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to enrich transdisciplinary learning.
  • Connect instruction to Franklin’s applied learning philosophy, fostering real-world application.
  • Apply Franklin’s grading system and ensure your LMS meets schoolwide standards and practices.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring all students feel valued and heard.
  • A full teaching load is 23 periods (21 teaching periods and 2 professional learning periods per week)
  • A faculty member’s teaching load can be made up of Core teaching (Math), Micro-courses, Electives, Academic Care classes, and the Franklin Skills curriculum
  • A teacher under full load will be allocated supervision, substitute classes or a combination of both
  • Unless running a club or coaching a sports team, faculty can expect to be placed into a weekly rotation system for Franklin Tutors supervision which occurs from 3:30-4:30pm. Additionally, all faculty, including those who run a club or coach, are expected to lead Franklin Tutors and Behavior Remediation Sessions once per trimester.
  • Faculty are expected to participate actively in Franklin’s Professional Learning Program, engaging twice weekly in both collaborative and individual learning.
  • Faculty are expected to be working remotely on their curriculum and Canvas requirements, from August 15th.
