About The Position

This position is for a Math Teacher for grades 9-12 within Lowell Public Schools. Initially, the posting is for internal transfer applicants only until June 4, 2026. After this date, it will be open to external candidates, including long-term substitutes and other qualified employees. The role reports to the Principal of Record and the effective date of employment is the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Requirements

Certification valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience with appropriate age group.

Responsibilities

Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
Plan instruction effectively.
Plan assessment of student learning effectively.
Monitor students’ understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction, materials or assessments when appropriate.
Create an environment that is positive for student learning and involvement.
Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect and safety.
Make learning goals clear to students.
Use appropriate instruction techniques.
Use appropriate questioning techniques.
Evaluate, try innovative approaches and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence in ability to learn.
Communicate learning goals and high standards and expectations to students.
Promote confidence and perseverance in the student that stimulate increased personal student responsibility for achieving the goals of the curriculum.
