About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, partners with school districts to provide specialized educational services for K–12 students who need additional support beyond a traditional school setting. SESI operates in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The Teacher in Training helps students address learning and skill gaps by delivering individualized instruction and support in diverse educational settings, using SESI’s evidence-based instructional models and positive behavioral interventions. The role offers paid training, tuition reimbursement, credentialing support, and opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Adaptability and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from varied developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Use SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, build confidence and character, and meet student needs.
• Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
• Maintain student documents, including IEPs, BIPs, incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
• Drive, record, and track student progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Supervise and monitor students, including during transitions to and from locations within the school.
