About The Position

Darby Vassall Lane Upper School is seeking a passionate and creative educator to join their team as a 6th Grade Teacher. This role involves providing superior instruction to a diverse group of student learners, utilizing the district curriculum and common assessments. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Massachusetts teacher certification/licensure required.
• Recent successful experience teaching middle school in a student-centered classroom with inquiry-based methodologies in an urban, multicultural setting.
• A love for children and a desire to work with upper school students.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with all team members, including special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and other support personnel.
• Support students in using technological tools, including Chromebooks, and Google Docs.
• Incorporate a variety of assessment strategies, including district-wide exams and formative assessment, to inform instruction and target intervention and enrichment needs.
• Integrate social learning into the classroom to foster a safe, caring, and active learning community.
• Partner with families and include them in the students’ learning and development, as well as encourage families to further the mission of the school.
• Build on established partnerships with surrounding community institutions and organizations.
