About The Position

The Teacher for Infants & Toddlers manages a classroom and provides a welcoming, safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children, families, and visitors. The role includes planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons using weekly themes and Celebree’s curriculum, supervising children during activities, and supporting their behavior with positive and appropriate discipline techniques. The teacher maintains classroom and hallway displays and an informative Parent Board, completes classroom paperwork accurately, and communicates regularly with parents about their child’s development and classroom activities. The teacher also identifies classroom or school opportunities and problems and works with the assistant teacher and/or school director to address them. The position requires compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 45 clock hours of Infant/Toddler Training, or 90 clock hours in Infant/Toddler Child Development and Curriculum.
Maryland state credential Level 5.
If the candidate has no college coursework, nine clock hours of communication training with staff, parents, and the public are required.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting, and carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Associate degree or college-credit equivalent in Early Childhood Education or higher.

Responsibilities

Manage the classroom in compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for children, parents, and visitors.
Maintain attractive, current classroom and hallway displays and regularly update an educational and informative Parent Board.
Create and implement thorough, timely, age-appropriate, stimulating lesson plans based on weekly themes and Celebree’s curriculum; manage effective classroom transitions.
Assist and supervise children during activities and use positive, appropriate discipline techniques to counsel children as needed.
Maintain the classroom’s appearance, cleanliness, and safety.
Accurately complete classroom paperwork, including Sunshine Reports, accident reports, and attendance records.
Communicate effectively with parents by greeting them by name, addressing concerns promptly, providing positive feedback, and sharing regular updates about their child’s development and classroom happenings.
Identify classroom or school opportunities and problems and work with the assistant teacher and/or school director to resolve them.
