About The Position

Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program for exceptional student education (ESE) students through curriculum, lesson plans, educational programs and individual education plan development while ensuring that all procedures are followed to maintain safety and security and to meet federal, state, local regulations. This position is a 196-day instructional position and is benefit eligible. It is a full-time role. For secondary education, this position may require teaching an additional period beyond the base contract, with additional compensation at the negotiated rate. This amount is considered part of the salary for Florida Retirement System purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the field of Exceptional Student Education, or related field, OR Approval by or participation in a state-approved certification pathway program.
  • Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or District-issued adjunct certification, OR Valid statement of eligibility.
  • Fingerprinting and Level II background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

  • Reading Endorsement preferred.
  • Candidates with a Reading Endorsement or who are willing to sign an agreement to earn an endorsement may be prioritized for hiring.
