About The Position

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. This role is for an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) position focusing on Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) and Math.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • None required (experience is for salary verification).
  • Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
  • Knowledge of subject content.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in behavior management techniques is strongly recommended (for ESE Intervention Representative, but generally applicable).
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement preferred (for ESE Certified Behavior Analyst, but generally applicable).

  • Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
  • Ability to manage students.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Benefits

  • Teacher starting salary is $48,700.
  • Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years starting at $7730 for the 26-27 school year.
  • Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
