About The Position

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. This role is for an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) position, specifically focusing on Autism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement preferred for ESE Certified Behavior Analyst positions.
  • Background in behavior management techniques is strongly recommended for ESE Intervention Representative positions.
  • Certification in at least one area of exceptional student education (for Autism positions, Autism certification or endorsement required) and one area of a core content area or K-6 Certification for ESE Site Coach positions.

  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
  • Strives to implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  • Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Devotes additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
  • Manages students.
  • Manages multiple tasks.

Benefits

  • Teacher starting salary is $48,700.
  • Additional Referendum money is available for the next two years starting at $7730 for the 26-27 school year.
  • Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
  • Salary is based on verified years of teaching experience.
