About The Position

Cleveland Elementary is seeking a Grade 4 Classroom Teacher. This is a 7.5 hour per day position for 183 days, effective August 31, 2026. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement and lifelong skills. The teacher will instruct and monitor students, use technology effectively, and serve as a role model for lifelong learning and professional behavior. Collaboration, flexibility, resourcefulness, and innovation are key to designing and executing responsive learning experiences. The position also includes observing and evaluating student progress, assigning and grading work, and assuming other responsibilities as determined by the supervising administrator. The teacher must conduct themselves professionally and represent the School District positively.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate with Upper Elementary endorsement required.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

Grade level experience preferred.
Master’s degree preferred.

Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
