About The Position

Provides instruction and is responsible for student learning during a particular time period in English education; this includes developmental reading. Deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction that develops students' reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Create a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom that supports academic growth and a love of literacy. Use assessment data to monitor progress, differentiate instruction, and provide timely feedback to students and families. Collaborate with colleagues to implement curriculum, support school improvement goals, and promote student achievement. Foster meaningful connections through culturally responsive teaching, effective classroom management, and strong partnerships with students, families, and the school community.

Requirements

Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 015 or applicable

Nice To Haves

Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
