About The Position

This position is for an ELA Teacher for Grade 8 for the 2026-2027 school year at Hampton Middle. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lesson plans and instructional materials, developing schemes of work, and creating assessments in accordance with established guidelines. The role involves instructing and monitoring students, utilizing technology to support and differentiate instruction, and managing student behavior effectively. The teacher will also provide feedback on student work, observe and assess student performance, and maintain accurate records of student progress. Responsibilities include assigning and grading student work, and participating in various meetings. The position requires the teacher to hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's professional qualifications, and to possess strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality. The teacher must adhere to the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators and be reliably present at the physical worksite.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments that are in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Instruct and monitor students.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to established guidelines.
  • Provide appropriate and meaningful feedback on student work.
  • Observe and assess student performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
  • Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
