About The Position

Provide direct, specially designed instruction to 3-5 year old students with/without special needs. Collaborate with the ECEAP Special Education Teaching team. Will provide instruction for ECEAP/SPED/Pay To Go/Head Start students in an inclusive classroom.

Requirements

Valid and appropriate certificate and endorsements for Washington State required.
Endorsement required: Special Education P-3 and ECE.
Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods.
Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Must provide proof of passing TB (tuberculosis) test PRIOR to hire!

Nice To Haves

Demonstrate a knowledge in and application of Performance Learning/State Essential Learnings.
Successful experience working with preschool or elementary special education students.
Understanding of and success at implementing classroom behavior management programs for individual students and entire classes.
Proven ability to work successfully with regular education and special education staff in providing instruction, coordinating programs, resources and inclusion.
Successful experience creating and implementing curricular activities for special needs students.
Organizational ability and positive attitude needed to successfully manage student files.
Demonstrate a knowledge of state regulations for special education, early childhood education, behavior management, developmentally appropriate practices.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, specially designed instruction to 3-5 year old students with/without special needs.
Collaborate with the ECEAP Special Education Teaching team.
Provide instruction for ECEAP/SPED/Pay To Go/Head Start students in an inclusive classroom.
Participate in MDT and coordinate IEPs.
Attend district meetings/child assessment team and inservices as a building representative.
