Teacher - Early Learning
About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a part-time, hourly Early Learning Teacher who is passionate about helping children learn, connecting with the community, and supporting children and families. The teacher creates a safe, sensitive, patient, and engaging early learning environment; plans and implements fun, child-centered, age-appropriate curricula; and follows YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines. The role includes supervising children, maintaining a healthy environment through light cleaning, and supporting children's personal care routines. The YMCA offers team support and opportunities to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Proof of an achieved degree from an accredited college or university in education or a human-services-related field, as defined by the appropriate state licensing agency.
- At least 2 years (2,500 hours) of childcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
- Be patient and kind with parents.
- Serve as a role model and make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
- Cultivate a sensitive, patient early learning environment for children and families.
- Plan and implement dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
- Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them, while ensuring a safe environment.
- Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
- Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children's personal care routines.
