About The Position

Assist the classroom teacher with the implementation of the educational program.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Knowledge and ability to work with appropriate software application
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good childcare and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to lead people, be honest, trustworthy, and dependable
• Must have multitasking ability, self-motivated, team player, adaptable, and time management skills
• Maintain a commercial driver's license with a passenger endorsement and a School Bus Driving Certificate.
• Must have the ability to work with children, remain calm, patient in case of emergency situations and difficult situations
• Perform the physical requirements of the job that may include lifting up to 55 pounds, frequent standing, walking.
• 1+ years of experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Monitor the safety and behavior of children in classroom, on the bus, and while on the playground.
• Assist in setting up the environment (indoor/outdoor for the activities of the day.
• Assist in teaching based on children’s individual developmental needs.
• Observe and record behaviors of children to assist the teacher in the identification of each child’s strengths and growth areas.
• Attend parent meetings, home visits, parent/teacher conferences as needed.
• Assist children during meals.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
