About The Position
This is a 10-month position for a Special Education Teacher Assistant in a 1:1 Adapted program. Special Education Teacher Assistants hired in Secondary Adapted programs are required to be on the RCPS approved driving list.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development Certificate (GED).
- Ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of college
- 12 undergraduate credits in math/English
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an empathetic attitude toward disabled students.
- Work cooperatively with others in a positive manner.
- Learn specialized instructional/management techniques with disabled students, as needed.
- Seek and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)/First Aid certification.
- Communicate and develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
