About The Position

The Teacher Assistant will support teachers in the instructional process by adapting classroom activities, assisting students individually or in small groups with lesson assignments, and maintaining classroom equipment and records. This role involves monitoring students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment, performing general tasks to prepare instructional materials, and reporting observations and incidents related to students. The position also requires attending meetings and professional development to stay updated on regulations and best practices. Additionally, the Teacher Assistant will assist with daily routines such as diaper changing, feeding, and playtime, and act as an advocate for the school's vision and mission.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Provision of federal criminal background checks covering the countries that you have lived and worked in for the last 10 years.
Drug tested upon hire.
Random drug tests.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Type II state regulations.
Understanding of safeguarding principles of working with children.

Responsibilities

Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom goals and objectives.
Assist with classroom assignments for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process.
Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goals and developmental milestones.
Communicate with teachers for the purpose of assisting in implementing classroom objectives.
Maintain classroom equipment, work area, and records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items; providing written reference; providing a safe learning environment; and/or meeting mandated requirements.
Monitor individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Perform general tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials ready.
Report observations and incidents relating to specific students for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Be familiar with and adhere to Type II state regulations, school policies and procedures, emergency drills, and safeguarding guidelines.
Attend professional development meetings and workshops to meet state guidelines.
Assist in diaper changing, bottle feeding, snack and lunch time, play time, stroller rides, etc.
Perform tasks as directed by the lead teacher.
