Under the supervision of the Teacher, the Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating environment for the growth, well-being, and development of the child. The Assistant Teacher will assist the Teacher in creating a safe and conducive learning environment, developing and implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering language and creative expression, and promoting independence and self-control in children. This role also involves establishing positive relationships with parents, participating in individualized education plans and lesson planning, conducting observations and assessments, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff and other professionals. The Assistant Teacher is expected to adhere to center policies, participate in professional development, and assume responsibility for the class in the Teacher's absence. A commitment to ongoing training and achieving CDA competencies is also required.
