About The Position

Join Albany CloverPatch Preschool in our mission to make a difference and shape a more inclusive future. We are looking for a Teacher Assistant to support instructional activities and student care.

Requirements

  • Assists in instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Follows mobility, dining and direct care protocols.
  • Assists with management needs of students, including performing duties related to activities of daily living (toileting, diapering, washing, tooth brushing), dress/undress, put on/remove adaptive equipment, set up students’ learning environment.
  • Carries out therapeutic goals within classroom activities.
  • Records data, monitors student responses.
  • Follows behavioral plans/intervention techniques.
  • Communicates student information accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Participates in classroom dining program.
  • Remains alert and engaged for the entire shift for proper supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in instructional activities as directed by the teacher, including direct instruction of students.
  • May assume responsibility for the class when the teacher is absent or unavailable.
  • Follows mobility, dining, and direct care protocols as directed by the teacher or therapist and as noted on individual fact sheets.
  • Assists with management needs of students, including performing duties related to activities of daily living (toileting, diapering, washing, tooth brushing), dress/undress, putting on/removing adaptive equipment, and setting up students’ learning environment.
  • Carries out therapeutic goals within classroom activities as directed by and in conjunction with the therapist, including systematic lifting and positioning of students and application and removal of equipment.
  • Records data and monitors student responses as directed by the teacher or other team professionals.
  • Follows behavioral plans/intervention techniques for assigned students, as directed by the teacher/school psychologist.
  • Communicates student information accurately and in a timely fashion to supervisor and/or appropriate team members.
  • May be directed to communicate with parents verbally or in writing.
  • Participates in the classroom dining program.
  • Remains alert and engaged for the entire shift to ensure proper supervision of students is maintained.
