About The Position

Join the team at Lincoln Academy and help shape the future—one student at a time. We’re currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Assistants to support classrooms in K-5th. As a Teacher Assistant, you’ll work side-by-side with lead educators to enhance instruction, support classroom management, and build meaningful relationships with students. Whether guiding a small group, or encouraging teamwork on the playground, you’ll be a vital part of our students’ daily success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (a degree in education or related field is a plus).
  • Prior experience working with students or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute to a supportive team culture.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing needs.
  • Comfortable with technology and instructional tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction by assisting with lessons, managing behavior, and supervising student activities.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce academic concepts and build skills.
  • Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, using prepared materials and adapting as needed.
  • Help prepare, organize, and manage instructional materials and classroom resources.
  • Supervise and ensure student safety during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, carpool).
  • Assist students with special needs or learning plans (IEPs, 504s), following teacher guidance.
  • Foster a respectful, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
  • Reinforce Lincoln Academy’s policies regarding dress code, behavior, and safety.
  • Guide families through the carpool process (morning or afternoon shifts as assigned).
