The Teacher Assistant will actively advocate and demonstrate appropriate adult-child interactions, maintaining professional relationships with staff and community members. This role involves assisting Program Managers with health-related activities, ensuring routine classroom cleaning and maintenance for a safe learning environment, and establishing an attractive, safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate space for children. The position requires participation in all education programs, including local and regional in-service training, advisory committee, and community education meetings. Flexibility to work some evenings for trainings or parent activities is necessary. The Teacher Assistant will also serve as a bus aide, a primary caregiver for children, and ensure confidentiality of financial and employee/client records. Additionally, the role includes conducting home visits and family conferences with teacher support, participating in weekly lesson planning, observations, and documentation, and responding promptly to requests, complaints, and problems. The employee is expected to represent the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department professionally in the community and maintain proper attendance. Due to job modifications, employees must be flexible and assume other responsibilities as assigned by management.
