About The Position

St. Margaret of Scotland is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and contribute to a positive, Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children while supporting the mission of Catholic education. The Teacher Assistant works under the direction of the classroom teacher to support daily instructional activities and student learning. Responsibilities include assisting with small-group and individual instruction, reinforcing academic concepts, preparing classroom materials, and helping maintain an organized and structured classroom environment. The assistant supports classroom management by promoting respectful behavior and modeling Gospel values in word and action. Additional duties may include supervising students during transitions, lunch, recess, and school activities; supporting students with diverse learning needs; and assisting with clerical tasks such as copying, grading, and organizing instructional resources. Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and effective communication with teachers and staff is essential. The successful candidate actively contributes to the spiritual life of the school community by participating in prayer, liturgies, and service opportunities, and by fostering a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for all students.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
  • Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Ability to pass required background checks and complete diocesan safe environment training
