About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring Teacher Assistants for the 2026-2027 School Year and beyond! We have an opening at the Elementary School and at the Middle School. Empowerment Academy is a dynamic and successful charter school that truly supports its teachers and staff. Empowerment has three of its own campuses, and BelovED is our “sister school.” We serve a mix of students that are among the most diverse in America while enjoying the cultural vibrance of Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. Our staff is a dedicated group of individuals passionate about closing the achievement gap and providing a quality educational program. Empowerment seeks the same qualities in Teacher Assistants it does in Lead Teachers as we often promote from within. We are seeking TAs who want to be Lead Teachers with us in the near future!
Requirements
- Must already hold a Substitute Certificate.
Nice To Haves
- Candidates hold a CE, CEAS, Limited CE or Standard Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6) or (P-3).
Responsibilities
- Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
- Assist in identifying when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item.
- Support students struggling to master an essential skill.
- Help students struggling with non-academic problems.
