About The Position

The Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in providing a faith-filled, safe, and engaging learning environment rooted in Catholic values. The Teacher Assistant assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision while modeling Christian behavior and supporting the mission of the Catholic school.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children preferred
• Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support and uphold the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and support academic growth
• Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers
• Support classroom routines, transitions, and organization
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as assigned
• Assist with student behavior management in accordance with school policies
• Provide compassionate support to students with academic, social, or emotional needs
• Assist with grading, copying, filing, and record keeping as directed by the teacher
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment
• Communicate appropriately with teachers and administration regarding student needs
• Follow school and diocesan policies, including safe environment and confidentiality guidelines
• Assist with basic health and safety needs of students when necessary
