About The Position

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

The position is located in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, and offers one of two Monday-to-Friday schedules: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The stated salary is $16.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physical ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
