PROGRAM DATES:
Orientation: June 6
Week 1 : June 8 - 12
Week 2: June 15 - 18 (no classes 19th)
Week 3: June 22 - 26 (No classes JUNE 29 - JULY 4)
Week 4: July 6 - 10
Week 5: July 13 - 17

Requirements for Teacher Assistant (TA) for Summer Enrichment in Shawnee Mission Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to apply for a TA position. All applicants must apply in Applitrack and also submit both pages of our Summer Enrichment application. a. A letter of recommendation from a current teacher must be attached to the application for applicants under the age of 18. Applicants 18 years old and over who are currently not an SMSD employee will require a background check if hired. This must be completed every year they are employed. No volunteers or guests are allowed. Due to possible low enrollment, TA's may have hours reduced or cut. a. W ork is not guaranteed every week. All hours scheduled depend on the enrollment. Cuts are decided based on program needs required. SMSD ID badges are required to be on person at all times and are provided upon hiring. Elementary age appropriate appearance and attire are required. Professional and elementary-aged appropriate conversations and communications are expected at all times while on duty and in the presence of students, other staff, and participant families. No personal cell phone use during work hours. Positions are contingent upon minimum enrollment. Hourly pay rate according to Miscellaneous Classified summer salary schedule. Secondary Students and High School Graduates: 1st Year in program Range A, step 1 $16.72 2nd Year in program Range A, step 2 $16.97 3rd Year in program Range A, step 3 $17.22 Current SMSD Employees: 1st Year in program Range A, step 4 $17.48 2nd Year in program Range A, step 5 $17.74 3rd Year in program Range A, step 6 $18.01
