The Teacher Assistant, Bilingual provides bilingual instructional assistance in the classroom by helping with the preparation of instructional materials, presenting classroom instruction, performing clerical duties, and assisting and supervising students to enhance the delivery of education. Assignments align with state statutes, regulations, and The School Board of Broward County, Florida's educational practices. The role may also involve assisting with the implementation of specific grants. Key responsibilities include providing academic support to individual or small groups of students in their home language under teacher supervision, conferring with teachers on student needs, assisting with evaluating student progress and communicating feedback to parents, managing ELL folders and record-keeping, and assisting with ESOL eligibility testing and progress assessments. The position also involves providing translation for non-English speaking parents, serving on the school's ELL committee, and interpreting/translating at meetings and ESOL Parent Advisory Councils. Limited non-instructional duties may be performed under supervision. All activities must comply with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
