About The Position

This is a temporary position within the Division of Youth Services (DYS). DYS provides a continuum of residential and non-residential services for youth aged 10-21 who are pre-adjudicated, sentenced, or committed. The position's purpose is to provide testing support to the school assessment center in a secure treatment facility and perform data entry for educational program monitoring, including test results, assessment reports, classroom grades, student credits, and transcripts. Data will be entered into the state tracking system.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
  • Two (2) years of study at an accredited institution (equivalent to 48 semester hours) will substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics through a formal state or local academic assessment (e.g., ACT WorkKeys) will substitute for the degree requirement, but a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required if using this substitution.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure test environment and proctor MAP tests, state mandated tests, and GED tests for identified students.
  • Create and maintain a testing schedule communicated to all parties.
  • Track and monitor tests, testing information, and results in a digital format and update as needed.
  • Download reports from tests and various databases for assessment reports for MDT and IEP meetings, student pre-test results from GED, writing samples, and grades.
  • Enter testing data into spreadsheets, forms, and tools for multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Work with teachers and staff to create a safe testing environment, assist with giving tests orally as needed, and follow up on required educational data collection.
  • Update and send monthly data sheets and MTSS information to the principal and DYS Education Director via email attachments.
  • Monitor attendance and grades to report to the principal and DYS Education Director monthly or as requested.
  • Maintain organized spreadsheets and documentation.
  • Work with State Teacher I’s and the Principal to determine classrooms needing additional support based on specific lesson plans and student needs.
  • Sit with students to help with guided work or computer-based work.
  • Assist the special education coordinator with scheduling IEP meetings and sending out meeting notifications.
  • Assist with planning information for MDTs and monitoring the MDT calendar.
  • Inform the principal of testing commitments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
