About The Position

Southwest Christian School is seeking candidates for a full-time Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Aide for the 2026-2027 school year. PreKindergarten Teacher Aides are responsible for preparing resources and supporting the classroom teacher for instructional programming for our youngest learners (ages 3-5). Teacher Aides support the classroom environment by attending to students individually or in small-group instruction and provide additional educational support to the classroom teacher. Aides are expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing the day-to-day duties of the role and to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students, and families to develop and maintain a school which is distinctively Christian, academically excellent, and globally minded.

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Experience working with our youngest learners - in a day care or early childhood environment (ages 3-5) - as a Classroom/Teacher Aide
• Is deeply committed to a consistent daily walk with our Savior, Jesus Christ, through prayer, devotional study, and church membership
• Demonstrates the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6)
• Recognizes the role of the parents as primarily responsible before God for their children’s education and commits to be a partner in that endeavor
• Possesses the ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and other school staff to develop a unified and successful educational program
• Cooperates with administrators, department chairpersons, and other school leadership to implement policies and procedures as they pertain to the daily operation of the School
• Demonstrates the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions
• Eagerly participates in professional development activities and the evaluation process with a desire to grow professionally, spiritually, and personally throughout the career in education
• Maintains a professional personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and is in accordance with school policy

• Capturing Kids Hearts or similar Social-Emotional Learning professional development training a plus

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the ability to inspire learning and cultivate positive relationships with students
• Helps children develop social skills while monitoring the children’s daily activities in support of lessons presented by the lead teacher
• Supports and reinforces the lessons and objectives in the classroom, through one-on-one and small-group support
• Contributes to a classroom environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and supports high expectations for learning
• Helps maintain the classroom environment, learning toys, and classroom equipment; performs clerical duties to assist the teacher in preparing lessons (e.g., laminating, making copies, creating bulletin boards)
• Monitors children in a variety of settings to ensure their safety (e.g., classroom, playground, field trips)
• Maintains clear, open, professional communication with team members, parents, and other school employees
• Performs other related duties as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective performance of the School
• Participates in activities that help build a faith community on the campus
