This position provides instruction in the fundamental aspects of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, roofing, and drywall repair. The role involves assessing the educational needs of inmates, developing lesson plans, administering and scoring examinations, and maintaining discipline and security. The teacher will also counsel students on their performance and behavior, attend meetings, prepare reports, and manage supplies and materials. Additionally, the position requires researching and recommending new teaching materials and participating in professional development.
