This position assesses the educational needs of inmates. Provides instruction and supervision of students in a regularly scheduled vocational program. Conducts classroom sessions and on the job training assistance. Plans and outlines necessary class objectives. Makes lesson plans. Prepares and administers tests within the framework of the program. Develops special methods of instruction for the vocational program in assigned teaching areas. Gives individual instruction and encouragement to the trainee as needed. Maintains records of vocational students on attendance, achievement, attitude and conduct. May order supplies. Issue and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies used in vocational program. Work with other departments in the Institution as part of total team approach to the rehabilitation effort. Performs other related duties as required.
