About The Position
The Teacher 1 provides instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program at Chillicothe Correctional Institution. Requirements
- Possess a baccalaureate degree and an Adult Educator four-year permit, or be eligible to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
- A current teacher certificate appropriate to the grade level assigned to Teacher 1, 71721, must also be accompanied by a baccalaureate degree or less.
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans to address instructional needs, including individualized training for assignments.
- Provide instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
- Administer necessary tests.
- Evaluate inmates and provide necessary direction.
- Maintain discipline and/or security of the instructional area.
- Attend education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
- Prepare required records and reports.
- Maintain inventory and order needed supplies and materials.
- Perform other education-related or assigned duties as requested by education administrators.
