About The Position

This is a full-time position within the Recreation and Culture and Public Works departments, requiring a 40-hour work week as per schedule. The role involves arena operations, ice making, and maintenance. The hourly rate ranges from $36.92 to $37.41, depending on qualifications.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED
• Refrigeration Operator (RO) Certificate
• Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods
• Clean Driver’s Abstract
• Two (2) years’ experience in arena operations
• Three (3) years’ Municipal Works experience or work experience of a similar nature in private industry
• Working knowledge of Ice Machines
• Knowledge of Arena Operations
• Knowledge of Refrigeration Ice Plants
• Knowledge of Rescue Breathing Apparatus
• Good working knowledge of WorkSafe BC Regulations and City Health and Safety Policy and procedures
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with RSA or IFO qualifications will be considered if they commit to acquire a Refrigeration Operator (RO) certification within 24 months
• Ability to obtain Valid Class 3 B.C. Driver's License with Air Endorsement within six months
