About The Position

This position is for an Elementary English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher. Applicants who are not certain of the number of hours, the number of days/months, and the annual salary paid for a specific position should contact the HR Customer Care Center for the position's information at 877-477-3722. The School District of Palm Beach County is a drug and alcohol-free workplace, and all employment categories are subject to drug testing. Certain employment categories may also require a pre-employment medical examination. Non-instructional applicants for some clerical positions may need to pass a Keyboarding Test. Finalists may be required to undergo a background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. Instructional applicants will need to submit specific documents upon being offered a teaching position, including Florida Educator's Certificate or Statement of Eligibility, and official transcripts. Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by an agency approved by the Florida Department of Education.

Requirements

  • Completion of forms required by federal and state agencies and the School Board.
  • Completion of forms related to the employee benefits package.
  • Successful completion of drug testing.
  • Background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) and the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse (for finalists).
  • Florida Educator’s Certificate or Statement of Eligibility (for instructional positions).
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities from which a degree was earned.
  • Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by an agency approved by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) with a course-by-course evaluation for college-level education.
  • Educational credentials must be from institutions accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities.
  • Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of public education and in support of the District's Mission Statement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Furnishes records upon request from the Department of School Police and/or the Division of Human Resources, including reasons for termination, criminal history, on-the-job performance, and educational records.
