About The Position

Withum's Tax Services Group is comprised of tax specialists dedicated to ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting and minimizing tax liabilities. They leverage their extensive knowledge of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, along with their affiliation with HLB International, to devise cost-effective tax strategies globally. Their services encompass Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, and International and Private Client services. This Tax Supervisor position will be based in our Los Angeles, CA office. The role involves working with an integrated team of experienced CPAs and industry leaders, taking a lead role in all audit engagement phases from planning to completion, supervising and mentoring staff, and cultivating client relationships. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed
  • At least 4 years of public accounting experience
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Trust & Estate, complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns
  • Preparing high net worth individual returns
  • Reviewing mid-level complexity C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns
  • Reviewing mid-level complexity individual returns
  • Researching and drafting memorandum involving complex tax matters
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities
  • Handling and resolve tax controversies
  • Training and supervision of staff accountants
  • Take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion
  • Supervision/mentoring of staff
  • Building/maintaining relationships with clients
