This is more than a traditional tax compliance role. It's an opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, trusts, and estates while leading complex tax engagements, mentoring staff, and helping clients navigate sophisticated wealth preservation and transfer planning strategies. As a Tax Supervisor, you'll take ownership of key client relationships, oversee complex compliance and planning engagements, provide technical guidance to team members, and play an important role in the continued growth of a premier Family Wealth Services practice. Requirements

  • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
  • 5+ years of public accounting or professional tax experience
  • 2-3+ years focused on high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates
  • Experience with Forms 1040, 1041, 706, and 709
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance and planning concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and relationship management skills

  • Experience with CCH Axcess products
  • Familiarity with trust and estate administration
  • Strong business development and networking skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and complete multiple tax engagements simultaneously
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned client relationships
  • Balance complex engagements while managing multiple deadlines
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality client deliverables
  • Anticipate client needs throughout the annual compliance cycle
  • Prepare and review complex Forms 1040, 1041, 706, and 709
  • Identify and evaluate tax-saving opportunities for clients and family groups
  • Research federal and state tax matters affecting individuals, trusts, and estates
  • Monitor changing tax laws and assess their impact on clients
  • Provide proactive planning recommendations and advisory services
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships
  • Serve as a regular advisor on tax matters affecting wealth preservation and transfer
  • Communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively
  • Deliver exceptional responsiveness and client service
  • Help clients navigate evolving tax and financial challenges
  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants and senior professionals
  • Provide technical guidance and ongoing coaching
  • Review work product and provide constructive feedback
  • Assist with staff development and training initiatives
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
  • Participate in networking and business development initiatives
  • Cultivate referral relationships and professional connections
  • Support strategic growth of the Family Wealth Services Group
  • Contribute to operational improvements and best practices
