About The Position

The Tax Supervisor is responsible for performing global tax accounting duties in accordance with ASC 740. This team member works with numerous people in various internal departments, outside consultants, GM Tax and tax authorities. This team member is responsible for the daily mentoring of staff. In this role you will: Preparation and review of global tax provision, including current and deferred tax expense, effective tax rate analysis, and related supporting documentation in accordance with ASC 740. Support the preparation and review of tax accounting disclosures for financial statements, regulatory reporting, and internal management reporting. Review GMFIO and GMFNA monthly provision. Preparation and review of worldwide ETR projections. Supervise, mentor and develop assigned personnel; allocate work and make decisions regarding employment, training and development, and performance appraisals. Research, document and assist in the implementation of new and/or revised federal law, FASB standards, and SEC regulations as applicable to the Company's tax position. Identify and lead the implementation of tax initiatives/projects including, but not limited to, automation, improved use of technology, tax planning, and risk mitigation. Manage recurring and ad hoc tax accounting projects, ensuring timely completion of deliverables and alignment with departmental priorities. Identify and ensure that significant recurring processes/procedures are documented, reviewed and operating as intended to achieve accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of GAAP for income taxes
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of US federal and state taxation
  • Good knowledge of GMF business and leasing
  • Proficient with computer technology
  • Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Advanced knowledge of International taxation
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP reporting for FAS 5
  • Working knowledge of US International Inclusions
  • Ability to document and identify tax issues in complex transactions and processes
  • Ability to learn and use new technology
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work under pressure

  • 5-7 years of public and/or industry experience in a high paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Required
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work activities.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of responsible AI practices, including data privacy and security considerations.
