About The Position

The Tax team is responsible for monitoring, processing, and remitting over $83 billion annually to Government Agency Partners for ADP clients across all payroll platforms. The Tax team handles all employer-level tax exceptions, actions internal and external client requests, and prepares and transmits tax remittances accurately and timely to ensure compliance with all Government requirements. As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for processing day-to-day transactions for Payment Operations, with a primary focus on Tax Processing. Candidates should be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, possess strong audit and assurance capabilities, and have an operational excellence mindset. This individual will work with Tax Coordinators, Analysts, and Consultants, reporting to the Manager of Tax. To succeed, you need to be comfortable in a number-driven environment, eager to learn, and adaptable to change. Whether investigating tax issues, preparing tax remittances and adjustments, or working on process improvements, your communication should be clear and actionable for internal teams. You should take pride in your work and successes and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education or equivalent experience
  • Experience in operational processing and control procedures
  • Business experience with a background in Financial Services or Banking industry
  • P.C. Literate (MS Office -- Advanced on all components)
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment committed to teamwork and compliance

Responsibilities

  • Process tax remittance preparation, transmission, and validation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, addressing and investigating requests and issues from internal teams and external clients regarding payroll tax situations, which may require researching clients, agencies, and systems to resolve issues in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Ensure all tax-related tasks are completed in a timely manner, with tax batches remitted according to timelines and deadlines set by Tax agencies, Bank partners, and ADP, and cases actioned and requests completed within set SLAs.
  • Build and maintain strong, healthy relationships with internal partners and clients, ensuring expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Collaborate with internal support teams to ensure proper client set-ups and address client tax concerns. Participate in Year-End planning and preparation activities.
  • Maintain knowledge and proficiency in payroll tax best practices and agency updates. Participate in cross-training opportunities and contribute to new hire training or team upskilling.
  • Maintain current process standards and procedures while strategically envisioning the end-to-end client experience. Challenge the status quo and suggest changes to improve efficiencies and/or client experience. Special projects may be assigned, and you are encouraged to bring forth project ideas.
